Sally Melville

Still (and perhaps for always) my most admired knitting instructor. Wise and witty, talented and truthful. A designer of deceptively simple, always interesting, never over-complicated knits that you will make, wear and give for a lifetime.

Vivian Hoxbro

The “godmother” of Domino knitting, Vivian is a master of colorwork and has to be included in any discussion of the true original thinkers in the world of knitting. Her designs are never overworked but always eye-catching and they make me smile. As does she.

Leslie Pontz

A lifelong love of the desert combined with previous work in printmaking, graphic design and 2-dimensional fiber art has led this versatile artist to her current passion: creating intricately detailed, 3-dimensional crocheted and embellished objects of breathtaking beauty. She has always been incredibly supportive and I’m proud to call her my friend.

Valerie Hector

Not a knitter, but an off-loom bead weaver of uncommon skill and artistry. Also a student and educator of all things bead related. She generously offered early encouragement and her work is iconic to me. Enjoy it.
